Norwich is not normally associated with Pre-Raphaelite art. However this city can boast of having a family of artists (including a woman) who influenced the development of this innovative 19th century art movement. We will critically assess and engage with the paintings of the Sandys family which included portraiture, landscape and mythological subjects. By the end of the day attendees will gain a greater appreciation and understanding of Pre-Raphaelite art and the role one Norwich family played in its artistic vision.
