This day school tells the story of the American Indian Wars from the perspective of one people, the Cheyenne, one of the most famous of the buffalo-hunting Indian tribes of the Great Plains. They fought hard to protect their land from American settlement in the 19th century, forming an alliance with Sitting Bull's Sioux. We will examine one tribe's experiences of war, economic collapse, imprisonment, massacre and regeneration.
